Will Davison é o novo líder na V8 Supercars Championship.

Duas ótimas e disputadíssimas corridas aconteceram nesse final de semana em Phillip Island pela 5° etapa da V8 Australiana. Na primeira corrida no sábado, Mark Winterbottom que largou na pole position venceu a corrida que teve um acidente envolvendo o líder do campeonato Jamie Whincup que acabou sendo atropelado pelo Falcon FG de Will Davison que tentava voltar para a pista após receber um toque numa curva.

Na segunda corrida David Reynolds liderava mas logo foi ultrapassado por Will Davison que não perdeu mais a liderança e cruzou a linha de chegada e é o novo líder do campeonato com Jamie Whincup na segunda colocação. A próxima etapa da V8 Supercars Championship acontece nos dias 15 e 17 de Junho em Triple Crown.
